We have been very fortunate to be able to give monetarily [to WorldVentures Foundation] for years, but we had never been able to personally participate other than just funding. Finally, we went in February 2015 to San Jose Las Canoas and started the construction of a three-classroom school. We also participated in bottle-school construction and visited a special-needs school in San Martin Jilotepeque. Working alongside the children and the community to build the school — and seeing the hope and gratefulness in their eyes because of what was being accomplished in their community — were unforgettable.
We provided so much more than helping build a bottle school; we provided long-lasting hope that will help their families in so many positive, significant ways in the future. It renewed our spirit of gratefulness and gratitude. It reminded us that we have an obligation to help others who are not as fortunate as we are. It also showed us that life is so much more than just money. It reminded us what’s more important in life and what is not. It showed us that life is about enjoying family and friends and cherishing the moments we’re in. Don’t wait as long as we did to go on a VolunTour!
